Base Quadrant
Base Quadrant is an Australian owned and operated company, a fact that we are all very proud of. As founders, we have known each other for many, many years, we have similar value sets and have a history of creating and building companies. These companies are focused on delivering exceptional service through a culture of collaboration, honesty, hard work and of course leading a great team of people. Whilst establishing, Base Quadrant, we saw the opportunity to create a boutique construction company that focuses on addressing the needs of the local communities in which we operate, support businesses as well as local and state governments plus, importantly, create jobs for Australians.
Our vision is to create a great place to be, whether you’re one of our clients, you’re residing in one of our temporary workforce accommodation villages, you’re working with Base Quadrant directly, as contractor, partner, supplier or simply by the consequences of us investing in the local community. At Base Quadrant, we think why and how we do things is as important, if not more important than, what we do. As a result, we put a lot of effort into our values which drive a positive company culture for all involved.

Our founders
David Lynas
David Lynas is the co-founder of the national shop-fitting company, Interior Fitouts which was established in 1991 with Shane Oswin. Both David and Shane established Interior Fitouts with the vision of providing customers with a comprehensive end-to-end shop-fitting solution. Over the years, Interior Fitouts has established itself as one of the industry leaders in the retail and commercial shop-fitting category and has become the first call provider for many high profile Australian businesses.
Having recently sold Interior Fitouts through effective succession planning, David spends his time investing in Australian businesses either through direct investment or through mentoring and coaching.
David is one of the longest standing leaders in the Australian Commercial Shopfitting Industry and his leadership style focuses on communication and key partnership engagement. Being a shareholder and board member, he also adds an enormous amount of experience to the Base Quadrant leadership team ranging from Quick Service Retail Operations, Commercial Kitchens, and Accommodation fitouts. David’s goal has always been about providing a seamless turnkey operation to clients who can rest knowing that they are in good hands.
Shane Oswin
Shane Oswin is the other co-founder of the national shop-fitting company, Interior Fitouts which was established in 1991 with David Lynas. Both Shane and David established Interior Fitouts with the vision of providing customers with a comprehensive end-to-end shop-fitting solution. Over the years, Interior Fitouts has established itself as one of the industry leaders in the retail and commercial shop-fitting category and has become the first call provider for many high profile Australian businesses.
Having recently sold Interior Fitouts through effective succession planning, Shane spends his time investing in Australian businesses in addition to undertaking his own property development projects.
Shane is passionate about client collaboration, customer experience along with the timely and on budget completion of all projects. Being a shareholder and board member, the Base Quadrant leadership team is enhanced with Shane’s extensive experience in manufacturing and industrial relations.
Maxine Horne
Maxine Horne is the co-founder and was the longstanding CEO of the Australian business, Vita Group Ltd taking it from one small store on the Gold Coast to an ASX Listed company employing over 2,500 Australians nationwide. Having sold the Vita Group in 2023, Maxine now shares her knowledge and experience investing in Australian businesses either directly or through her presence on advisory boards to several private companies. She is a shareholder and board member of Base Quadrant. Her wide-ranging experience gained from startup businesses all the way through to an ASX300 listed company generating over $850m in revenue provides strategic, operational, finance, sales, and marketing experience to the leadership team.
Stuart Harris
Stuart Harris has over 20 years’ experience in the shopfitting/construction industry. He is a Shareholder and an Executive Director of Base Quadrant, leading all operations, including construction, IT, finance, safety and all people functions.
Over the years, Stuart has worked very closely with many leading retail brands across Australia to deliver their retail vision and shop fit requirements. As the Sole Director of Interior Fitouts, Stuart continues to lead this exceptional business into the future of shopfitting focused on collaboration, building mutually beneficial relationships, and delivering each project on time and on budget.
Laif Jones
With over 30 years experience delivering construction solutions across industries including mining, health, retail and restaurants, Laif has a wealth of knowledge that he brings to the leadership team of Base Quadrant as a shareholder and Executive Director.
Laif is responsible for the delivery of construction solutions, managing conception to completion and the on-going operational function on each project.
